This is what we fetched this morning, a 1993 Ural. It has a lot of simlarities to a british bike to me. The gentleman I got it from was nice enough to throw is 2 unused tires, made in Russia, & 2 K65 Carbs that came on Bike originally. These came in handy about an hour after we got home.
I gave it some voltage, some stuff came on, then a toggle switch fell apart when I touched it, replaced that. Then the left carb (It came to me with K68's that had been added a few years back) I pull the enrichner & it broke, fixed that, then same carb was peeing out the bowl overflow, then I promply lost the needle from float in the Gravel driveway........so I swapped back on the K65's, which are supposed to be better anyways.
The left cylinder runs great, the right cylinder, not so much. I think it has a broken oil ring, which is ok, because he also gave me extra pistones & ring sets. When he bought the bike new in Russia, he had foresight to buy all these extra parts before leaving.....thank God for smart people.
Best thing on this bike, it has a normal foot shift lever, & then a small short hand shift lever.....after looking at it, I was thinking, No way.....I pulled in clutch, & moved lever, yup, reverse! Yes!
