RIP Cami, the Ninja cat with super powers.

Well tonite was a sad night. My Kids found Cami in the backyard, back legs not working & swelled, & injured in the rear. Appeared she was hit by a car. X-rays showed she was broken a lot (spine, hips) so I got to sit with her a few minutes before it was nite nite time & after for a while, very hard leaving....

This cat, was the scrapiest, weirdest, funniest cat we ever had. She would cuddle with you, fight with you, shadow box, shaaaadow dance, killed every screen in the windows in the house, (cause she needed 20 ways in & out), play ping pong for an hour with any mouse that dared enter our house, she was in the middle of whatever I was working on in garage, she jumped into any car that pulled in the driveway when the door opened, under the hood if the hood opened.....she had many talents, & Mad Ninja skills. I think a Female Ninja gang & Chuch Norris must have been this cats Parents. It was almost impossible watching her lay on the table drugged, it just was so weird, this was crazy, dance like a butterfly sting like a bee Cami, how it it possible this happened?

In one last gallant effort, she did manage however, as my Daughter is cuddling her wrapped in a Sponge Bob towel in the car , to totally freak out & leave 4 full punture wounds on her wrist next to the main vein, & in the tendons & other useful stuff in there thats needed, then dart with her front legs between the pedals, my feet & the floor. Well, that was a nerve racking few minutes, Bepie going, "wow this hurts a lot & is going numb", & trying to figure out how to get cat from her new position to back seat without getting mauled myself..

So I made an about face, handed Bethany off to the Mama to go to the ER they both love so, then I turned my sites back on Angel - Satin cat. I was so hoping she would not try to crawl to me while on the 25 min drive. She just layed still though making quite little sounds. Of course after seeing the X-Rays I totally get why Cami was a tad fussy.

We will miss you Cami. I am sure youre in total control where ever you are now. Kiss-kiss.

From Russia with Love.

This is what we fetched this morning, a 1993 Ural. It has a lot of simlarities to a british bike to me. The gentleman I got it from was nice enough to throw is 2 unused tires, made in Russia, & 2 K65 Carbs that came on Bike originally. These came in handy about an hour after we got home.
I gave it some voltage, some stuff came on, then a toggle switch fell apart when I touched it, replaced that. Then the left carb (It came to me with K68's that had been added a few years back) I pull the enrichner & it broke, fixed that, then same carb was peeing out the bowl overflow, then I promply lost the needle from float in the Gravel I swapped back on the K65's, which are supposed to be better anyways.

The left cylinder runs great, the right cylinder, not so much. I think it has a broken oil ring, which is ok, because he also gave me extra pistones & ring sets. When he bought the bike new in Russia, he had foresight to buy all these extra parts before leaving.....thank God for smart people.
Best thing on this bike, it has a normal foot shift lever, & then a small short hand shift lever.....after looking at it, I was thinking, No way.....I pulled in clutch, & moved lever, yup, reverse! Yes!

Off in the El Camino to get.......

Nice lazy saturday morning,
Wake up #1 son, check
Late as usual, check.
Tie straps & ramp, check.
Steal Daughters ElCamino for thousanth time, check.
What will we bring home today?

Matt from Draft came by.........

Matt came by the house today. Everytime I see his bike I smile. This was the first time I really got to hear it, & see him riding. It is nuts. 11:1 compression, cams, magneto, he made the girder & Had the Santee swing arm stretch frame as a starting point. ...very nice ride.
His pull throttle cable broke when he was on the way over, he rode last bit of way pulling throttle on carbs by hand. He swapped over the push cable on carb to pull postion the get home, just had to turn throttle backwards to ride.....& he still blasted away thru the gears .

Perspectives on Life

I try to live a positive life. I try to be Honest, take care of the kids, & treat others the way I would like to be treated or better. I think smiles are contagious. I like things a bit dark & quiet, I like sun & noise. I think other peoples opinions & feelings matter . Im slowly learning that listening is more important then talking. (Thats a hard one for me sometimes)
My Mom sent me something that I wanted to share.

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.

"One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

"The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed"

On the same note, a friend in Texas turned me on to a thing called the Four Agreements.
Its a way to look at life, maybe a code to try to live by. A good foundation maybe for those with no real religion, or those with Religion as well. Heres the bare bones take on it.

The Four Agreements

Be Impeccable With Your Word
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

Don’t Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

Don’t Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can and avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

There are many things to think about everyday. Many reactions to situations. Life is hard......especially for the little creatures.........Oh, I always have to joke about serious stuff too. This is Spike, he lives under the air compressor shed, he's not real bright, but is persistant.

My sons Seca 750 is alive, but still ugly

Kyles Yamaha Seca 750 sprung to life last night in the wee hours. Plugs, set carbs correctly, varrooom! He wanted a retro & cheap bike so he could sell his beloved SV650s to be more frugal.
First order of business now is new bars, these just feel wrong.....people used to like these?

My new favorite picture of the Texas bike.

Trent kicked around the color just right in this picture, & the brass really comes out, the color of the pipes from the first ride that left me grinning for a long time......I love this shot.

Also love the BikerMetric colors that look like floral, but are anything but.

And this bike he dug up somewhere.....he's good at finding neat stuff that nobody else seems to dig up.

Punk Racer

This is my newest project, an OIF Triumph 650. It has an Amen plunger tail on it that was put there the first year they made them for this frame, which wasnt very long. The bike came from original owner. It needs some love, & needs the rear spring boxes wack off & repositioned. They tilt back, so on bumps, the chain is tightening on spring compression. Old Owner said he snapped chain a couple times & didnt know why......thats why.

Heres a couple pics of they way it came to me, coffin tank & all. Stuck a Triumph tank on, no, tried an old Honda tank, I kind of liked, now Im leaning towards making tank & tail. & making a few attempts at new exhaust. It all come back off now that ideas are coming.
This bike will be a mix of metal & speed in the asthetics area. It will be different then anything Ive done. Stay tuned.
