CB Vtwin, what to do, what to do.

This is what I sit & stare at for hours sometimes mid build, & think about laying in bed, then Ill get up, go out & swap everything around so I can see what it may look like..

Vintage wheels, suspension ,& brakes?

Modern wheels, suspension, & Brakes with a vintage upper frame & bodywork?
Mono shock or traditional shock?

... depend's on what you intend to build, doesn't it? - the frame as it is looks more like a classic stereo shock thingy to me. Café? Scrambler? Steet Tracker?

Original intent was a cafe styled bike with a cb twin. Then to owner asked about maybe using a modern shadow motor as he really liked them in the past, & Im up for anything different, so we did.
If we stay spokes, it would be 18" front & rear, & some meaty tires. Kind of be between a Tracker & cafe.
Im not trying to fall into a category really with the bike other then a bike to owner will love for his purposes, & that I will be proud that I built. I like to stay outside common builds if possible.

Combime the 2, fat wire wheels, modern brakes, and vintage clean bodywork. Like this direction.

If I stay with the spokes, I need to find a lot wider rear hub, the shadow motors hub sits out a good bit as they ran fat tires.
Presently looking for a wider spoke hub, that runs disc. If I keep drum style hub, itll have to have a lot of neked axle on the right side with wider swingarm, rather go disc at that point so it looks proper & not odd.

I am totally diggin the Stuff on it now, all Id really need it a wheel in front & set of tubes. The Ninjas previous owner had a hard time negotiating a guard rail. A LOT. :-)

I definitly dig the modern with the old. It has a really sporty cafe look... like a super cafe. It'll be all the rage. Everyone's taste is different, but that's the way I'd go if I had to choose.

Thank you, I think If I go about it right, it will look like a cafe on steroids. The label Cafe racer gets thrown around a lot now, like Bobber does now. This would be something stripped down as far as it can be, with vintage cafe style bodywork, but a grunty low end torquey motor & modern suspension from a Ninja that would make it handle like a dream & stop stupid fast. A few people saw it here today, & loved it.....we will see :-)

The newer forks/wheels etc are the way to go on this bike. I'd also monoshock it if it were me. The bike is already a hybrid, that should be embraced.

Clay, I agree about the Hybrid part, thats why I first liked the idea of this bike with the shadow motor, change of scenery. I was half playing around when I threw the Ninja parts on it, but man I fell in love with the possibilities in front of me, I think I can knock this one out of the park if I get the ok.

We will stay with standard style shocks, no mono. I do want it to stay in the realm on older appearing over all. I just want the Eleanor mustang out of this, not the bla GT that everyone has :-)
